ABSTRACT The authors describe a case of post-mortem transcaval ureter. This is a rare congenital anomaly, where the inferior vena cava (IVC) forms a circle over the right ureter, in a vascular ring. In the bibliographic survey carried out through MEDLINE it was found that only 8 cases have been described in the worldwide literature as of December 2004.
